In Malaysian cinemas this week

Hope is showing at 25 cinemas across 9 states and federal territories, with 206 sessions listed between Thursday 1 October and Wednesday 7 October. Most of those cinemas are in Kuala Lumpur (6 cinemas), then Selangor (5 cinemas). GSC, TGV, 10 Star and Dadi are all screening it; GSC has the most sessions. There are 4DX, ScreenX, Studio and GETHA sessions as well as standard 2D. Sessions run from 10:00 AM to 11:15 PM.

A wide Malaysian cinema run

According to this site's listings, Hope is playing at 112 cinemas in Malaysia this week, with 1,562 sessions listed. The listings show ScreenX and 4DX sessions among the available formats, including sessions beginning after midnight.

Malay Mail reported that the film opened nationwide on 10 September after its Malaysia gala screening at GSC Aurum TRX on 4 September. The paper said the release included ScreenX, 4DX and IMAX. In a separate Malay Mail column, the critic praised the film's action craft and precise editing, while calling its visual effects a weakness and noting divided early reactions. The column compared its narrative approach with Mad Max: Fury Road and described the story as simple and driven by survival.
