Location

The showtimes page can sort cinemas by how close they are. It only asks for your location when you press Near me, never on arrival.

The position is rounded to about a kilometre before it is stored, which is as precise as a cinema distance needs to be, and it is forgotten on its own after a week. It stays in this browser. It is not sent to this site, because there is nothing here to send it to: these pages are plain files with nothing running behind them.

A saved position is a starting point, not a standing answer. If you have already allowed location and the distance sort is in use, it is re-checked when the page opens, so that distances are measured from where you are now rather than from a town you have since left. That check never produces a prompt: a browser that would have to ask is not asked, and a saved position old enough to mislead is discarded instead, which is why the sort sometimes switches itself off and waits to be asked again.

What this site stores

There are no accounts and no sign-in. Everything the site remembers is kept in your own browser and never sent anywhere:

• Favourite cinemas you have starred.
• Your bright or dark preference.
• A rounded location, only if you used Near me.
• The two choices above.

Clearing your browser's site data for this site removes all of it.

Analytics

With analytics on, Google Analytics records page views and general usage. This includes an approximate location derived from your IP address, your browser and device type, and which pages you open. IP addresses are anonymised. The data is used to understand which parts of the site are used, not to identify anyone.

Microsoft Clarity runs under the same switch, and it watches more closely than a page count does. It records how a page is used — taps, clicks, scrolling and pointer movement — and can replay a visit as a recording, which is how a layout that fails on one size of phone gets found. It may set its own cookies and derive an approximate location from your IP address. It is there to show how the site is used, not who is using it.

Turning the analytics switch off stops both. Neither is requested at all until your stored choice has been read, so declining is not a matter of stopping something already running.

One measurement is not under that switch, because this site does not add it: Cloudflare, the network that serves these pages, inserts its own Web Analytics beacon into them as they pass through. It counts page loads and measures how quickly pages arrive, for the site's operator. Cloudflare states that it uses no cookies or local storage for this and does not fingerprint visitors by IP address, browser or any other data. A browser that blocks scripts from static.cloudflareinsights.com stops it.

Advertising

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technology to select and measure ads. With personalised advertising on, those ads may be based on your interests and previous browsing. With it off, ads are served without personalisation.

Google's own controls for advertising apply in addition to the switch above, and can be changed at any time in your Google account's ad settings.

Cookies

The site itself sets no cookies. Cookies present on this site come from Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and Google AdSense, and only when the matching choice above is on. Blocking cookies in your browser also stops them.

Booking links

Selecting a showtime opens the cinema's own website. Anything you do there, including buying a ticket, is covered by that company's privacy policy, not this one. No payment ever happens on this site and no payment details are handled here.

Links to other websites

The news posts link to the newspapers, trade papers and cinema chains they cite, film pages link to trailers on YouTube, and the news section offers an RSS feed. Following any of those links takes you to a site with its own privacy policy; this site sends nothing about you to them, and a feed reader fetching the feed makes an ordinary page request and no more. The news pages carry the same single advertisement and the same measurement switches as every other page here.

Children

This site is a listings service intended for a general audience and is not directed at children.
